1. Field Mapping
The first step of any operation is creating an accurate field map. In many cases, we can import existing field boundaries from tractor-mounted GPS systems or other digital mapping platforms. If no maps are available, we can create them ourselves using our RTK (Real-Time Kinematic) mapping system.
Our RTK technology allows us to map field boundaries with centimetre-level accuracy, ensuring every part of the field is accounted for. This precision enables us to apply products exactly where they are needed, reducing overlaps, minimising waste, and ensuring maximum efficiency.
2. Product Mixing & Loading
Once the field is mapped, the next stage is product preparation. For jobs requiring multiple products to be mixed together, we utilise one of the UK's first dedicated drone filling and mixing systems.
Drawing on the proven induction and agitation technologies developed for conventional boom sprayers, this compact pallet-sized system ensures products are thoroughly mixed before application. Multiple agitation settings prevent separation and settling, helping maintain a consistent mixture throughout the operation. An integrated flow meter also allows us to accurately measure and record the exact quantity of product loaded into the drone.
3. Precision Spreading Calibration
For spreading applications, we can configure our equipment to suit a wide range of products and application rates. By fitting different auger sizes, we can accurately apply materials at rates ranging from as little as 5 kg/ha to over 200 kg/ha.
Every product is individually calibrated before application, ensuring accurate spreading performance across your land. This process guarantees that the intended application rate is achieved while reducing product wastage and maintaining consistency throughout the field.
4. RTK-Guided Application & Variable Rate Technology
The final stage is the application itself. Using our advanced XAG P100 Pro drone platform, products are applied with centimetre-level precision using RTK guidance technology.
During operation, the drone continuously monitors its output and automatically adjusts application rates when required to maintain the target output. This level of accuracy allows for more precise placement than many conventional spreading or drilling systems, helping to optimise product performance while reducing waste.
Our technology also supports Variable Rate Application (VRA), allowing products to be applied at different rates across a field based on prescription maps, soil analysis, biomass imagery, or crop requirements. Rather than applying a uniform rate across the entire field, the drone can automatically adjust output as it flies, ensuring each area receives the correct amount of product.
This targeted approach improves nutrient-use efficiency, reduces input costs, minimises waste, and helps maximise crop performance by matching application rates to the specific needs of the crop. Variable rate technology enables farmers to make better use of available resources while supporting more sustainable and profitable farming practices.
